Day 51, Boats and Shows - 8/28
Wednesday started the right way; with a delicious English breakfast from The Breakfast Club. Our breakfasts consisted of toast, Marmite, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms*, fried eggs, bacon for Jerrad, vegetarian sausages for me and Nadia (Linda McCartney™ brand), coffee and tea. I can't wait to go back there.
After Epic Breakfast we headed back to the flat where we uploaded photos and organized our pile of stuff into smaller, neater piles of stuff. After taking our sweet time cleaning and being productive we headed back out to meet up with Nadia and then go to a friend's music show.
We met Nadia at her work where she continued her Mission of Being Awesome. She brought out a platter of champagne glasses and tall shot glasses of Cointreau, which she set on fire for extra fanciness. She went back into the kitchen to do some work, so Jerrad and I took photos of the pretty painted murals in the restaurant. Nadia returned with a pretty dish full of different flavors of ice-cream scoops. 11 scoops to be exact. We sampled every flavor her restaurant served. Yum. I like to think all French pre-gaming is that lovely.
Nadia locked up and we headed to iBoat, a super cool music venue/bar/restaurant/boat. We were there to see her friend Oscar's band (Zero Branco), which we enjoyed. Nadia stole my camera and took about 100 photos of the show (I've posted my favorites below). After watching the band play and meeting a lot of her friends, we scooted out for dinner.
We ended up at Sweeney Todd's where Bertrand met up with us. We ordered dinner and I was very pleased with my veggie burger. Jerrad got a carcass burger and he said it was delicious as well. During dinner (I'm not sure how it came up) Bertrand flashed us the "blood" gang sign, which he can throw up in .02 seconds. Then we drew mustaches on our fingers and took photos. We may or may not have been drinking. After dinner we went to La Vie Moderne for a night cap and I don't remember what happened after that. Just kidding. We went to bed.
*I have successfully removed mushrooms from my "DO NOT EAT" list. Well, some mushrooms. The big slimy ones are still scary.
