I've been trying to apply Mr. Fiance's theory of "hope for the best and expect the worst" during what very little wedding planning we've been doing. It's been 6 months since we got engaged....wait, holy crap. SIX MONTHS ALREADY? Maybe we should actually honor "wedding planning Wednesdays" from now on. Anyway...

We've done very little planning. I'll get cases of wedding brain  (especially right before bed when I have to wake up early the next day) but we haven't really figured out specifics yet. We're taking a very, very (VERY) laid back approach to the wedding. We fully realize things will go wrong and won't go perfectly according to plan on the day. Thank god we're not ordering doves or a string quartet and have very low expectations.

How is it with such a laid back approach and realistic goals that I still give myself heart palpitations when thinking about planning the wedding? Not even planning, just thinking about planning. The good news is my freakouts only last a few minutes now because I'll quickly remember the end goal is that I get to marry the best person ever.

Does it get easier once you get further into planning and figure details out or does it get more stressful?

  1. Hi, I'm a stalker. I found you on APW in your comment on the Anonymous ATP about compromise in where to live with your partner.
I was going to comment there that we should be friends if we ever move back to AZ (in Nor Cal now for FH's med degree and probably residency, but I'm originally from Mesa), but the thought it would be creepier to stalk your blog and then comment unexpectedly.
Point being, I wanted to say that the picture of you and your (now) husband dressed like old people reminds me terribly of my parents and their first couple's Halloween where they did the same thing. (26 years and counting!)
Best to you and yours :)

    1. It's not creepy at all! I tend to want to be friends with everyone in the APW community. I seriously wish there were APW meet ups or something. Your parents seem awesome! Do you have a blog so I can stalk you in return?
